Sara Palin, John McCain's VP pick is under heavy attack from the liberals. This is actually a good sign for conservatives. If the liberals really thought Palin was nothing more than a shoulder shrug, they'd forget about her, and hammer McCain instead. But they aren't hammering McCain, but Palin.
This is because they really fear her - not because she's a lightweight choice, and they are out to ridicule her - because she is a woman that's pro-life, has actually made something of herself (and OMG without a government program!), and can handle 5 kids and a husband. And, if you can stand it she's...gulp...an evangelical christian! ACKKK!
What are they saying? "How can she be a good mom AND raise 5 kids?!" See, they don't understand this paradigm, because a liberal woman would shuttle the kids off to daycare (since she wouldn't be married to the father of the kids), and would have aborted the Down's Syndrome baby she had.
Instead, Palin's husband is staying home with kids, and the woman is out there in the working world, pushing through the glass ceiling. I thought this is what feminists wanted - the female empowerment thing...right? Or, is it they want the female empowerment thing just for liberal women? Yeah, that's it.
"But isn't the mom staying home with the kids while dad goes out to work the conservative ideal?" Probably, yes. But if the situation is reversed, as it is with Palin, we are good with the husband staying home with kids. We're not ok with sending them to daycare all their childhood (if at all possible).
"But she's inexperienced! McCain's an old man, and could die in office, and then she'd be president!" You know, for supposedly a "tolerant" crowd, libs really don't want old people around do they? They think he's going to drop dead any moment - and there's no reason to believe that. His mother is in her mid 90's, for God's sake. She's inexperienced? Let's see, she has been the governor of a state, dealing with senators, budgets, business interests, interior interests, tax issues, security issues, and so on...and Obama has headed up....what? What has he governed? A city or town? No. State? No. Boy Scout's troop leader (God no! They are homophobes!) No. They answer is, he's passed a few laws...like whoopi-do.
The Republicans' VP choice has more experience actually governing people than the Democrats' presidential choice has! Is that debateable?
